Molten VCT is currently inviting subscriptions for new ordinary shares, offering retail investors the opportunity to invest in selected qualifying technology companies alongside the wider Molten platform, while accessing VCT tax reliefs for the 2026/27 tax year, with early application incentives.
Target fundraise size: £10,000,000 (with an additional £20,000,000 over-allotment facility)
Closing date: 2nd April 2027 for last allotment in the 2026/27 tax year
Minimum investment: £6,000 (maximum £200,000 per tax year for relief entitlement)
How to apply
There are three ways to apply:
- Direct online application: Complete your application directly through our encrypted digital application portal in under 10 minutes.
- Via financial adviser: Instruct your wealth manager or IFA to submit your application through our online portal.
- Execution‑only platforms: Subscribe seamlessly via major execution-only platforms including Wealth Club, Hargreaves Lansdown and Interactive Investor.
Eligibility, subscription limits, and VCT qualification requirements apply. Reliefs depend on personal circumstances and prevailing legislation.
How to invest in Molten VCT
1. Check your eligibility
UK Taxpayer: You must be a UK resident for tax purposes to claim VCT tax reliefs.
Minimum Investment: The minimum investment amount will be specified in the latest prospectus or offer document.
Investment Limits: The maximum you can invest in VCTs each tax year and qualify for tax relief is £200,000
2. Read the offer documents
Before investing, please read the latest Offer Document, Prospectus and Key Information Document (KID) for full details of the offer, including risks, charges, and terms. You can find them here.
3. Apply online
Complete your application securely through our online portal.
4. Make your payment
You can pay by bank transfer, cheque, or other methods as outlined in the application instructions.
5. Receive share confirmation
Once your application and payment have been processed, you will receive confirmation and details of your VCT shareholding. Shares are typically issued in electronic form or as paper certificates if requested.
6. Claim your tax relief
After your shares are allotted, you’ll receive a tax certificate (form VCT6) to include with your Self-Assessment tax return to claim income tax relief at the rate applicable to your subscription, subject to eligibility and HMRC rules.
